24/36 limit

February 5, 2014

I was looking through some film photos and saw that I had not shared these.  My mom, brother and I went to the De Young museum in SF a few months ago, and snapped a few photos.  These were taken with the Nikon F100 Fuji 400H.  I set the ISO to 200 and usually over expose by one or 1 1/2 stops.  I am feeling more and more comfortable with it.  I’ve taken the same approach when shooting digital in the sense that I pretend I only have 24 or 36 exposures in my camera.  Thinking helps me avoid shooting mindlessly and taking only those photos that I will definitely be printing.
Try it out!  Even with your own phone, set yourself a limit and you will see how it helps you capture the essence of the occasion.  Plus, you won’t have a gazillion images to go through or hoarding the memory of your phone ;))
