It only took us over 10 years to finally do this road trip and it was SO worth the wait! I tried to google the best route north, as well as places to stay. It all started pretty well by getting a FREE car rental (thank you credit card points), so all we had to do was book our hotels. We chose (or should I say I? haha) I booked Lithia Springs Resort for one night and we LOVED the place. It was clean, surrounded by beautiful gardens and unbelievably peaceful. Now, if you don’t mind the smell of sulfur in your water, you should be ok, in fact, they say it’s good for you ;). My hair was incredibly soft after showering with their water (I have to credit the water). Arriving close to sunset was great. That golden light made it so relaxing and as if we were being specially welcomed by it. Oh! and PEONIES! Peonies were EVERYWHERE! I was in heaven! We left this place inspired to come back home and really get working on our backyard. Here is a peak into this lovely place called Ashland, or as we called it “Shakespeare Land” 😉 Next stop … Portland, Oregon!
