It only took us over 10 years to finally do this road trip and it was SO worth the wait! I tried to google the best route north, as well as places to stay. It all started pretty well by getting a FREE car rental (thank you credit card points), so all we had to do was book our hotels. We chose (or should I say I? haha) I booked Lithia Springs Resort for one night and we LOVED the place. It was clean, surrounded by beautiful gardens and unbelievably peaceful. Now, if you don’t mind the smell of sulfur in your water, you should be ok, in fact, they say it’s good for you ;). My hair was incredibly soft after showering with their water (I have to credit the water). Arriving close to sunset was great. That golden light made it so relaxing and as if we were being specially welcomed by it. Oh! and PEONIES! Peonies were EVERYWHERE! I was in heaven! We left this place inspired to come back home and really get working on our backyard. Here is a peak into this lovely place called Ashland, or as we called it “Shakespeare Land” 😉 Next stop … Portland, Oregon!
11 years with this guy and I would not change a thing!
Oh the golden light!
Francis taking it all in 🙂
Aren’t these beautiful?!!
On our walk to town we spotted the first waterfall!
Taking time to sit, relax and be present where ever we are brings calmness to our heart. Just looking at these photos I remember exactly how rejuvenated I felt.
Little cute shops around town
Francis wishing for a hat … another one..hmm … NO no NO!
Dinner time. Japanese of course 🙂
Hope you enjoyed looking through these photos. Hope you make it to this little corner of the earth one day 🙂
