Isn’t this photo lovely?! Yeap, captured on film.  I took about 8 rolls of film to Europe, but sadly only used about 3.  Part of it was just not making up my mind on what or where to shoot with film, and to be honest, a lot of photos I took with my phone, but that was OK.  I was able to enjoy being out, walking the cobble stone streets and just taking it all in without being to preoccupied with a big fancy camera 🙂

Anyway, wanted to share a little about why I decided to change the name of the blog.  For some time now I have wanted to change it to something different/original.  I kinda felt that using my personal name was unnecessary, especially because I don’t have a photography business (and definitely don’t intend to), so I felt it was better to come up with something else.  Finally came up with Color and Grain!  Why? well, it includes the two things I like best in film photography, the Color it renders and the Grain it contains, giving images a timeless feel to them (and that many try to replicate on digital).  In fact, I even use VSCO for my digital editing, precisely because of the soft look of film.  So, Color & Grain was perfect for me.  Here, I share part of our life happenings, a life with purpose, knowing that this life is only the beginning of an ever lasting one 😉  Although most of the photos I take are digital, I still want them to have that color and grain that I so much love about film, giving photos a timeless feel.

Y decía que no me iba a enfermar, pero caí!  Ya va para una semana que no logro espantar esta gripe, pero hoy sin duda fue el peor día.  Me he tomado de todo!  Pero por lo visto no hay nada mejor que el descanso y todo un día en casa 🙂  

Aprovecho para contarles el por que el cambio de nombre a “Color and Grain” en ves de “Rosa Guerra Blog” como lo tenia antes.  La verdad, no veía por que debería llevar mi nombre.  No es un negocio lo que tengo con la fotografía y el ponerle mi nombre personal, como que esa es la impresión que daba.  Por tiempo ya quería un nombre diferente y original que al mismo dijera algo de lo que mas me gusta de la fotografía.  Finalmente, al pensar en el porque me sigue gustando tanto la fotografía en carrete o “film” me di cuenta que es por el COLOR que le da a las fotografías y que tantas aplicaciones intentan replicar en fotografía digital.  También es el GRANO o GRAIN que suele ser típico de la fotografía en carrete, me ENCANTA!  No me gustan las fotos super definidas, o perfectas.  Me gustan las fotos antiguas, el color de mucha de ellas y la falta de definición que tienen.  Para mi son clásicas, pasando la prueba del tiempo.  Ahí lo tienen!.  Ah! y el subtitulo? bueno, eso no necesita mucha explicacion.  
Aquí comparto parte de nuestras aventuras y una vida llena de propósito que Jehová nos ha dado.  No vivimos por vivir, esto solo es el comienzo!  😉
