Pretty in Pink | The Peony

June 21, 2012

Earlier I blogged about the ranunculus which come in a variety of colors and that are simply stunning.  Here however is the  beautiful Peony.  What I love about this flower is the colors it comes in.  Although you can find them in stronger colors, I prefer the pastel colored ones.  Light pinks and whites are among my favorites, and can I be blamed for it?  It is an absolutely beautiful creation!  It opens up during the day and somehow manages to one by one fold its tissue like petals perfectly back in, forming a perfect little ball.  They are in season right now and can really brighten up any part of the house. My favorite place for pretty inexpensive flowers is Trader Joe’s, they always have a good selection at reasonable prices.  I simply love the feeling of coming home to a fresh set of flowers, they make me smile 🙂  (note to hubby.. hint hint)
So, my advise is this;
When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other! – Chinese Proverb
