Finally some more Guatemala photos!! It’s actually fun looking back at these images while I upload to share 🙂 This was my first time zip lining and I LOVED it!! The last line was LONG and we were very high up. Francis did Zip lining the first time in Guatemala in 2009, but I was still not quite ready. This time I was READY!!! There are some things that just need to be tried, at least once and this is one of them 🙂
Our friend Will and his friend (pictured below) gave us an amazing tour at Antigua Canopy Tours. This place is a MUST if you ever make your way around this corner of the earth. The next day we were treated to a coffee tour at Filadelfia Coffee plantation which was awesome!! Our appreciation for coffee was taken to another level 🙂
– Thank you Will for the BEST treat ever!!!
Sun was setting and the light was beautiful!
Crrrrazy!! The Canyon Express at almost 177 feet long at a height of 500 feet.
The beginning of our coffee tour.
I had NEVER seen a real raw coffee bean. When you break it out of the shell and taste the beans, they are pretty and sweet. A good bean is when you have two even ones, among other things that I forgot 🙂
The drying process
Companies can pay top dollar for handpicked beans, which is done in these hand sorting belts.
and then comes the packaging, ready to be taken home 🙂
“Antigua Guatemala has long been recognized for growing the highest quality coffees in the world. It’s climate, high altitude, fertile volcanic soils and traditional farming practices contribute to the making of the world’s finest coffee” R. Dalton
Oh! and Starbucks is known for making trips to Guatemala in search of good Guatemalan coffee … Casi Cielo anyone?!!
