May – Anniversary month!

June 17, 2020

We are going on to month three of Shelter in place and for some unreasonable reason we thought that by the time our Anniversary came around we would be able to at least take a mini road-trip… NOT! Well, it turned out to be one of the best celebrations EVER! We spent the day at home (like we should be) and planned time to cook, relax and end the night with dinner and an outdoor movie. It was perfect.

So far, for me, May has had the BEST weather. June has started to be a very windy month, but May had beautiful sunny, perfect to spend the days outdoors in the patio. Since March I had been cooking A LOT, but May was the FIRST time with ordered pick-up from The Habbit and let me tell you, that burger was SOOO delicious! I mean, after several weeks without a burger, we were impressed with this one ๐Ÿ™‚
Managed to have my niece over for an afternoon of coloring and other arts and crafts.
First time propagating my indoor plants!! I was so happy cutting them and repotting. My Pilia plant has been doing so well. It loves being in the bathroom next to the window.
My Pothos plant, I keep that one in the kitchen and the cuttings have grown enough roots to finally place them in a new home ๐Ÿ™‚
My way or relaxing VS Downey’s way to relax – starring at the plants
We had our C.O visit through Zoom as well as a family reunion. Not the preferred way to spend our time with friends and family,, but we are very grateful for what what we have and we ENJOYT it ๐Ÿ™‚
.. we even had our first West Maya song family night! I just HAD to take out my colorful headbands from storage .. haha!
On May 25th (18 years and counting) we started the day with some simple but delicious pancakes and Francis pretty stoked about his gift from our friend Mitzy ๐Ÿ™‚
Lunch consisted of grilled artichokes, chips, Guacamole and French 95’s.
Now THIS, here, was something that was TOO much to bear. It definitely warmed our hearts and made us feel SOOO loved. Our friend Carly baked this pretty AND delicious cake. Carly and Jose drove to SM and careful delivered this to us and just about provided that for reals feeling of a celebration. We will forever remember this with fondness. Thank you, Ambrosio’s!!
Francis got his grill ON! Wow! Granted, we are missing our greens, but C’mon! How can you not ONLY have stake along with a lobster tail!?? right!?
To end the night; Cake, Champagne and Meet me in St. Louis.
We are sure this will not be the last time we celebrate our wedding anniversary at home.
