Sewing Journey – The beginning (October 2020)

January 10, 2022

Here I go again, abandoning my poor blog. June last year was the last time I came around here to share a bit of what was going on at home during the first few months since COVID started, and now here we are in February and a lot has happened, BOY! a ALOT has really happened! hahaha! Once summer was about to end, I had to start planning my “makes” or DIY projects or else I would go crazy inside the house during fall and winter. I don’t do well during these colder months, so it was MUST to find something artsy and creative to keep me busy aside from meetings, studying, service and other day to day stuff. Late in summer I came across a post on IG about a sewing class that was about to start. I thought, why not? I had wanted to learn two years ago, but didn’t go so well and I gave up, so I decided to give it another try. I am SO glad I gave sewing another chance, because since October of 2020 I have not stopped!! I started making small makeup pouches and totes. I then decided to make a crafting apron, which was pretty much my first garment. My second garment was a dress!!

Making my first bodice with darts and all!
Putting together my first PDF pattern and cutting
Started making many small pouches like these, which gave me good practice with zippers and straight stitches
Cutting away!
And more cutting
Following sewing tutorials is my new jam
